FAQ

WHAT IS THE LEAGUE FORMAT LIKE?

Typically, each team will play two games per day/evening. Games will usually be 15 minutes running time and played on a half court. Games will be scored by a referee. Typically there will be concessions available. We try to build the schedule so your team plays its two games within 60 minutes or less.

HOW DO I MAKE SURE I GET TO PLAY ON THE SAME TEAM AS MY FRIENDS?

You will need to register as a TEAM. You must have a minimum of 3 players and can have a maximum of 4 players. One player's parent/guardian will complete the on-line registration form for the team. This person will be the Primary Contact for the team. Primary Contacts need to be prepared to enter roster information for each player (shirt size, DOB, name, phone number & email address) and to pay the complete team fee.

CAN WE HAVE A COACH?

No. This league is NOT intended to have teams being coached. Refs will help with substitutions, no parents/guardians will be allowed on or near the players’ bench area. The uniqueness of this league is that kids are allowed to run their own team. If obvious coaching is being done during the games, it should be brought to the attention of the site director.

HOW DO WE FIND OUR SCHEDULE?

Schedules will be posted on the specific league's page. We typically post schedules one week at a time about 5 days prior to a league date. This allows us to monitor game scores and make sure teams are playing the most appropriate competition possible.

HOW DO I ADD OR EDIT A PLAYER TO A REGISTERED TEAM

After submitting the registration, the individual (Primary Contact) who registered the team will receive an email from Drip hoops 3 on 3 that contains instructions for editing the roster/registration via our TeamSnap portal. It may take up to 3 hours for the email with login credentials to be sent. Make sure to SAVE this email.

WHAT IF WE HAVE SCHEDULE CONFLICTS?

If our scheduling work has not begun (generally 6-10 days prior to a play date), you can submit schedule conflict information. The Primary Contact received an email with instructions for submitting schedule requests via our TeamSnap portal.

ONCE THE SCHEDULE IS BEING CREATED OR HAS BEEN POSTED, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ALTER IT. BE SURE TO GET YOUR REQUEST SUBMITTED 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE.

WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?

No refunds will be issued after registration.

WHICH DIVISION DO WE REGISTER FOR?

Boys and girls divisions will be organized by age group and skills level. Read the registration information carefully to be sure to select the correct division and correct skill category based on the "strongest player on the roaster. Teams can certainly register to play in an older division if they feel the competition would be more appropriate. Keep in mind that many players in this league are not necessarily "A" level traveling basketball players but some may be. If your team is made up of players of varying grade levels, it is recommended that you sign up for the division that your oldest player qualifies for.

We try our best to schedule teams to play appropriate competition. Much of it depends on you selecting the right division. We will watch scores and may schedule out-of-division games if scores indicate them to be more appropriate competition.

WHAT CONSTITUTES A FORFEIT?

We don't keep records or post standings. Our objective is to provide kids an opportunity to play basketball. Other teams don't appreciate showing up without an opponent to play. Teams should make every attempt to have at least three registered players present for each game. IF A TEAM IS GOING TO BE SHORT PLAYERS, THEY SHOULD FIND SUBS. If a team does not show up with enough players, the staff will try to find other players to fill in. If a substitute team can't be formed, the team that is present has rights to use the basket and court space during that slotted game time.

*Philosophy & Rules

Drip Hoops Miami 3 on 3 leagues are for the players. Kids need to enjoy the sport to want to improve. The key focus is FUN! This is an opportunity to develop basketball skills in a fun, non- coached, low-stress environment. We encourage healthy competition in which kids play hard and play to win but not at the expense of belittling opponents, yelling at officials or displaying poor sportsmanship. We ask that players and parents conduct themselves appropriately and exhibit good sportsmanship.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS

- No coaching. Cheering, however, is encouraged. Let the kids play and figure out some things on their own.

- All players need completed liability waivers signed by a parent/guardian to participate. If short players, teams may bring subs. Subs are required to have a completed liability waiver.

- Take the time to THANK A REF or staff member who did a great job.

- Help to keep the facility clean. Please pick up garbage and water bottles at the end of your games.

PLAYER CONDUCT

- No swearing, taunting or inappropriate verbal or physical behavior. Unsportsmanlike play may result in: 1) Warning; 2) Sitting out (ref discretion); or 3) ejection from the game or league.

- If unnecessary or excessive fouls occur, the ref may impose a technical foul (2 pts plus the ball)

- No hanging on the rim or net.
- League shirts must be worn.
Parents, family members and friends may purchase matching game shirts in support of their child.
- Players will demonstrate good sportsmanship and shake hands with their opponents.

Other players and a basketball hoop can be seen in the background. The court is surrounded by a blue wall with sports-themed murals above it.

The skills training sessions are fantastic! I feel more confident and skilled on the court now.
